The Brooklyn Bridge Park will soon see some major improvements.
Brooklyn Bridge Park officials have farmed out more than $25 million in contracts to construct an express lane to the 85-acre waterfront park and soccer fields. The funds also provide for a 396-foot wooden pedestrian bridge at the park.

BROOKLYN, NY (Catholic Online) - The price of the project is a little higher than estimates delivered earlier in the year, but the improvements will have a positive impact on the park.

The new bridge will connect Brooklyn Heights and the waterfront while also offering superb views of New York Harbor.

There is also discussion about construction of a hotel and high-rise condo project in the park.

Officials say the project will kick off in January and will be completed by the fall.
